O Amigo Ricardo


This guy grew up in "burbs", but from a young age developed a "special relationship" with the heart of Lisbon. He loved to ride his bike 20km just to see the sunset from high atop the hills of the Portuguese capital - Lisbon.  As soon as it was possible, he moved right in the heart of one of the most picturesque and cheerful neighborhoods in the city , Alfama. He studied Portuguese literature and spent his spare time tinkering with automobiles, as a mechanic.  He loves the poet Fernando Pessoa, who he considers one of the greatest writers of all time. Like Nietzsche said, "Without music, life would be a mistake",  Ricardo feels the same way and is ready to catch you up on the Portuguese music scene. He loves to travel, and has been to Mexico, Morocco, Germany and knows Spain like the back of his hand.  Through his travels he has realized how important  it is to have a friend in a  new city who can show you around. You can call him "o amigo"( friend). We do!

A Alfacinha

Marta is our chief local guide. A former journalist and a lifelong football fan, Marta can regail you with tales of great moments in Portuguese football or breakdown the country's economical woes. Marta loves being outside and is always up for adventure.  Although she had no previous "van" driving experience she won us over with her shockingly good  skills on the  "Grand Theft Auto."  A natural with people, Marta leaves passengers with the feeling they are  part of her family. Born and raised here in Lisbon, she also knows this city like a true "Alfacinha" (translation: little lettuce, person who likes lettuce, or Lisbon Local).

Costa

  Costa joined the team in 2011.  When he is not behind the wheel he enjoys horseback riding, romantic poetry, molding teeth, and bicycle rides on Sunday.  His passion for travelling has taken him around the world.  When asked where his favourite place was, he still says "Lisboa."

Miguel  More Famous Than Soap

Miguel is a modern day renaissance man, a jack of all trades.  He has been a camera man, video editor, fashion photographer, art director, bartender,  and door to door submarine salesman.  Since a young age he had one goal.  To be the most famous Brand in the world.  Now he brings his smile, passion and swagger to the team of We Hate Tourism Tours.

The Unseen All-seeing  Heroes

After these drivers were arrested and lost their licences, they happily joined us in the office. Specializing in their own departments now, Tatiana will handle all your reservations (in Tolkien's Elvish!) while Rod (our Portuguese Tom Cruise) mixes cocktails and experiments with particle accelleration (for our upcoming Time Travel Tour). Rodrigo is our medic and also oversees all things involving pyrotechnics and jellybeans. Tania is the head of our security and law de-enforcement departments as well as a shining choreographer of nautical acrobatics (only on Wednesdays). 
 
 

Purveyor of Travelling Lifestyles

Known for his charm, wit and and extreme secrecy.  An intrepid traveller and serial entrepreneur, former journalist, male nanny, Dj and world famous cat burglar  the "Purveyor"  first met Bruno while planning the "great codfish heist of Sesimbra."  They began talking about Bruno's van and the tours he was offering to friends and visitors.  Realizing the enourmous value of Bruno's idea he decided to invest his codfish profits in what would become We Hate Tourism Tours.
